Nutbush City Limits

The weather continues to be cold, but sunny, so no reason not to tackle another job in the garden today. We had a PT session this morning - the gym isn’t heated, meaning there was plenty of cardio involved to keep us warm - so needed to recover from that before we started work outside.
The Hypericum in the top flower bed is a prolific grower, which is a good thing from the point of view of privacy in the summer, but it does mean that it almost blocks the pavement by the time winter rolls around, so needs a radical pruning.
A combination of secateurs, heavy duty loppers and the electric trimmer soon reduced the bush down to more manageable proportions. Mrs C can just be seen behind it, finishing off the straggly bits whilst I went to fetch the green bin for all the cuttings. It only just all fitted in, and that was after me climbing in to the bin and jumping up and down to create a bit of space. Twice. The good news is that there will be no more gardening this week as the bin is absolutely full to the brim now. Oh well, every cloud and all that.
P.S. The more observant of you might have noticed that there is a joint in the trimmer lead. That relates to last year’s pruning, when I got a bit carried away with the trimmer and cut right through the cable! Which is why I’m no longer allowed to operate it without supervision…
