A coat day

Brr, it was freezing today, definitely a coat day for both Xena and I. Many small ponds in the woods were frozen and there was still so much frost around by mid morning. At lunch time we had a brief snow flurry but it melted as it fell, I don't think we will be getting any proper snow this weekend. In the Swiss Alps where we are going after Christmas, they have already had so much snow this season, the best in years, which is great for local tourism and a good sign of the climate behaving as it should.

I made a tomato soup for lunch, it is a Marcus Wareing recipe whereby you roast the tomatoes and onions in the oven so they acquire a lovely sweet flavour, it was delicious.

Luke sent a video of him doing the Tarzan Swing at the Extremo Park in Monteverde, Costa Rica. No mother wants to see her child swinging 470ft above the ground on a 295ft swing, it was terrifying to watch! He and Meriel are having a good holiday. One day was spent at a dog shelter walking the dogs (Meriel's choice!)

Tommy is making supper tonight, he is making us a butternut risotto, yum yum, I am looking forward to that.
