The Woodland Garden (Friday 1st December 2023)

Sub-zero temperatures overnight cost the medlar its leaves, but have revealed the fruits, now ready to be removed and bletted. This is definitely its best crop yet. Planting this medlar was one of Refna's first ideas and was maintained by her up until her removal to darkest Watford.

This was, quite remarkably, the debut single by Sinéad O'Conner back in 1987, brilliantly interpreted by Jessie Buckley who has won as many awards for her acting as for her singing. Sinéad's cause of death has now been determined by the coroner but will not be made public unless there is an inquest.
