This dark film made AV Club’s Top 25 Holiday movies: Black Christmas, released 1974; a Canadian slasher film set in Toronto. When it was distributed in the US it was renamed Silent Night, Evil Night; starring Olivia Hussey, Margot Kidder and John Saxon • Like yesterday’s, this is one I’ve never heard of • MrsP and I made a quick trip to the grocery store knowing tomorrow’s weather would likely keep us home. Quick?!? We should have known better because everyone else was thinking the same thing. It was mobbed with long checkout lines! I felt badly for those working the cash registers.
