A day in the life

The internet disappeared again this afternoon, lucky I had time to do a lot of bank and other internet things while it lasted. After a phone call to the deliverers of the fiber network by my landlord, the internet was back again this evening. Hope they can find the problem. Some things, like banking is difficult to do without the internet, good to be reminded about the vulnerability and how dependent I am.

The cows didn't like the snow, from the look of it, only a few of them came out in the open and then just stood still before they went in again. The temperature is two degrees over zero so the snow on the ground is mushy and wet, the new snow doesn't add to a better experience.

In the evening I was at a lecture by one of the archeologists about the upcoming archeological diggings that start next spring on the island. We have fifteen known strongholds and settlements from 200 to 400 AD all over the island, all in ruins. The goal is to learn more about what life here was like during that period, they've excavated detailed sites, like the single house located near where I live but really they only know very little about the big picture. The universities has had a huge funding, like 45 million crowns, to get started with this work for eight years to come, it's going to be interesting to follow their work.
