A Day In The Life

#15

I’m hoping the final fifteen holiday films on the AV Club’s Top 25 will be more familiar to everyone. Here’s #15: Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer, 1964, an animated/musical TV special originally appearing Dec 6 on NBC, based on Johnny Marks 1949 song of the same name. The song was based on the 1939 poem written by Marks’ bil, Robert May. It continues to air on TV annually during the holiday season. Voices include: Burl Ives, Larry Mann, Billie Mae Richards, Paul Soles • This was my favorite film growing up, and I never tire watching it every Christmas. So many iconic characters and songs, with my favorite being “the Bumble” • Excessive rain fell overnight and this morning but the predicted wind never happened. Whew, Fat Baby is still vertical! Unfortunately the river has flooded its banks in several locations, officials are monitoring closely • Peace & Love
