Up to your knees in pollen

Today's the day ........................ to zoom in

I had the perfect opportunity to take this picture today because the bee landed on a gazania that I had just bought - right under my nose - in my greenhouse.

So even with the naked eye I could see it paddling about in middle, up to its knees in pollen, looking a bit punch drunk actually. It was easy to whip out my camera (always somewhere about my person) and catch it in action. It was only when I zoomed in later on, that I could see all the aphids that were also in the picture.

Ah well - I've planted it now in the garden. So let's hope there are lots of hungry ladybirds out there looking for a quick snack ....................
