Dolly's Day

NEW YEARS EVE

Becky was up and out early ( 7.30am ) - she ran 11 miles around the local area.  When she got back we just sat around chatting and playing with Astrid.

We left the house around 12 noon to drive to Hedley On The Hill in Northumberland.  Its our New Years Eve tradition to go for a meal at The Feathers pub/restaurant there.  Its a great place.... all the produce is local.  I had roast pork with roast potatoes and vegetables.  Northumbrian Burnt Cream for dessert ( its similar to Creme Brulee).  The food was delicious.  After the meal we had a short walk around the village - it was damp and foggy so we didn't stay long.  Called in at Aldi on the way home. Astrid was asleep in her car seat so I stayed in the car to save disturbing her to take her into the shop.  Becky and Mike bought  a few things for tomorrows meal but it was mostly stuff that they were taking home to Sussex.

When we got home Mike went in the bath and Becky had a nap. So I was in charge of Astrid.  We played with some toys and watched numerous episodes of Peppa Pig that I had  recorded ( they are only 5 mins long ).  When Becky and Mike came down to look after Astrid  I put on a load of washing - Beckys, running kit and some of Astrid's clothes )

We had buffet food this evening and after Astrid had gone to bed we relaxed with a glass or two of Baileys to see in the New Year.

So its been a busy and enjoyable day.  Two collages today as lots of photos were taken.

Neil, Rachael and Luna travelled home from N.Ireland today - they got back home around 10pm.  They are coming to my house tomorrow.  It will be great for us all to be together ( not Luna unfortunately - I don't think Tino and Lily could cope with a dog as well as a small child )

Happy New Year to blippers everywhere.  I hope 2024 brings all you wish for.

( No chance to do any comments - I will try and catch up once my visitors have gone home.)
