Happy New Year!

We went out last night to the Adam and Eve pub. It's been a pub/tavern since the early 1700's, and the ceiling in the bar is only about 6'6'' high, meaning that several very tall people had to watch their heads all night, even when dancing. The extra shows this! Most of the people in the shot are part of The Party.

We arrived there at about 8pm, there were a few in there including a group of younger people in their 20's. They were dressed for clubbing and we assumed they would move on. As the evening transpired we realised they were with some of the older people there. A family and their friends had decided to make the pub the venue for one of the kids' 21st birthday and celebration of the return of another of them from travelling in Australia! So we did feel a bit like we were gate-crashing! Don't blame them though, it's cheaper than hiring somewhere and paying for a DJ!

We didn't care really though, we danced and had a bit of a boogie. They had a DJ, the music was...ok, and obviously with the very low ceiling the acoustics weren't the best. If people closer to the speakers were talking or singing it was hard to hear the song.

It was a good night really. My Blip was taken shortly after midnight. The Cathedral is lit with rainbow colours to welcome in the New Year. We knew this was the plan and nipped out to take photos. Lots of people gather at the Cathedral on New Year to hear the bells strike midnight.
