Everyday Life

Water, Water Everywhere

This morning I had a leisurely catch up on Blip commenting and wrapped Jeri's birthday presents. Her actual birthday was yesterday but we spread the celebrations over two days.

We travelled over this afternoon, taking a detour via Newark to avoid the impassable flooded roads. On the way I looked at my phone to see a message from Jeri telling us to arrive later as she was going to the gym. Oops!

We had gone too far for it to be worth going home, so we took a detour to a village called Carlton on Trent. Carlton in Trent would have been more appropriate today. It was a very smart village full of mansion houses, some of which looked in poor state of repair and unlived in. My shot shows what is usually a field.

This made it so we weren't too early to Jeri's. She and Paul made a lovely snacky buffet with cheese of various types, crackers, pizza, various bao buns etc. etc.

Of course there was birthday cake!

We watched Arsenal miss a thousand chances against Liverpool and Liverpool score twice to knock Arsenal out of the cup.

Probably just chill out tonight. Brian is still feeling a bit rough with his cold.
