The Good, the Sad and the Ugly

Another frosty night and sunny day! Been getting on with my voluntary job for the garden at Dunollie - I've been finalising the list of labels for the new shrubs and trees which have been planted, checking spellings of Latin names, common names and countries of origin, together with making sure I have the right numbers which will go on the database. Hopefully I'll finish it tomorrow and the list can go off to the engravers.

Walked down town again this afternoon. There's a limit to the number of different routes and places to see, but there's always something to photograph. Today's Blip was taken on the North Pier - I love the colours against the blue sky. McCaig's  Tower in the background, the roof of the fish restaurant in the foreground and the old Columba Hotel in the middle. Over the rooftops stands one of the lovely old lamp standards, sadly bereft of its bulb for some time now. Even more sad is that my extra was photographed less a minute's walk away.

Had a good walk around the sea-front, met a friend from the old Arduaine days and climbed the hill back home to sit down with a cuppa! Beautiful sunset - orange sky behind the trees.
