Bliss!

An early, cold start but met T at check in and we went to the lounge for breakfast before boarding and squashing ourselves into our seats for the 6 hour flight. T slept most of the way (inevitably!) and I dozed a bit, listened to the end of Any Human Heart by William Boyd and read the papers. Arrived to such a burst of warmth and bright bright sunshine-such a tonic!
Straightforward passport control and baggage retrieval then the coach to the hotel…don’t think I’ve ever been on an all inclusive package holiday before but very relaxing to be shepherded everywhere! Arrived at the hotel and shown to our little villa type place-2 bedrooms and bathrooms, a terrace, sitting room and kitchen (with no cooking utensils or plates etc!). We got into our bathers and headed down via the pools to look at the beach. Amazing long stretch of soft sand and huge waves rolling and crashing onto the beach-gorgeous! Found some sun beds and chilled out a bit then sat in the pool with a beer soaking up the atmosphere. Decided to go into the town for a wander and supper-ate in a little restaurant hanging over the sea as the sun sank behind the horizon. Lovely! I had grilled dorado and T had chicken with rice and beans, then we wandered round the town a bit before getting a slightly hairy taxi ride home…
Having to do this very fast as the WiFi is terrible…the hotel says it will soon be mended but we’ll see!
Feeling tired but already relaxed and loving the warmth and the light…
