League Leaders Pay a Visit

Went along to see Spartans play Stenhousemuir this afternoon. Stenny are top of the table and have only lost once all season. they were comfortably the better side today and won 2-0 with a goal in each half. That puts them 14 clear of second-placed Peterhead and 17 ahead of Spartans in third, albeit Spartans have two games in hand over the other two. Met T at the game and a couple of his mates. One of them was a Queens Park fan and, like me, very interested in the score from Stark's Park. After last night's smash and grab win for United at Caley - another late goal for a 1-0 win that wasn't really deserved on the run of play - United were top of the table on goal difference. I expected Raith to win at home against the bottom club but they lost 1-2 so United remain top and now with a game in hand (although that is against Morton who won at Tannadice last week so those points aren't assured either). Since winning at Tannadice when we were there for hospitality Raith have only picked up five points out of fifteen. While not perfect United have managed ten in the same period to wipe out the Raith's lead.
