Running for his train?

At least it's downhill all the way to the station. A street snap on the way home from a Film Festival afternoon. Started with the French crime thriller Paris Countdown (French title Le jour attendra) Very stylish, but with some rather graphic violence. And a few glimpses of the streets of Paris during a car chase sequence. Perhaps rather more style than substance, and I felt I wanted a more sophisticated conclusion but still rattled along. Only the second public screening in the world, after its world premiere on Thursday night. And I was sitting right behind the director who was there for a brief Q&A after the film finished. He kept referring to his two leading actors as comedians, but I'm guessing he was caught out by a 'faux ami'. From there I went to a reception at the Trav for Filmhouse members - interesting chat with G who works for the Filmhouse marketing and also met our friends L and M, who has both Film Festival and Blipfoto connections, and fellow blipper leasko who works for the Filmhouse. We all then headed back to the Filmhouse for the screening of Stories We Tell which was another true life piece, albeit told in a slightly less conventional way than last night's two films. L was off to see another film but I am going to see my friends J and A who are in town today at short notice - great to be able to catch up with them!
