A Journey into Prayer

I went to our mid-week communion service in church this morning. I haven’t managed to get there since mid September, on the day when Smithers was taken to his pre-op hospital assessment by The Traveller prior to his emergency glaucoma operation. It was wonderful to feel hugely welcomed and blessed by everyone, and I so enjoyed the familiar and comforting words of the service of communion.

The interior of the church was looking quite different from normal – there were three rows of chairs facing the chancel where we took communion, but behind them the chairs were arranged in a large square, all facing the centre. This is because we are currently in the middle of a week of prayer called "A Journey into Prayer", with a different theme for each day. On Monday it was The Crossroads, Tuesday was Pathways and today is The Valley.
