Today's wade

The snow is going rapidly helped by the occasional very heavy rain shower, so today's wander was more a wade at the bottom end of the track and a bit of a struggle through drifts at the top. Berry didn't mind one bit. Although she's now sporting a bad limp after her snooze which I need to keep an eye on.

She's also started being incontinent which is a bit of a puzzle. So we're off to the vet on Monday if the weather permits. We now have storms coming and getting over the barriers could be fun. Not much we can do about it though.

This morning had a bit of drama with the Coastguard helicopter landing in a field opposite. It took off towards Kirkwall so we assume that it was in lieu of the ambulance which certainly won't have been able to get here. Let's hope the person involved recovers well. They weren't there for more than about 20 mins; such a fantastic service.

The last campsite booking for our trip to Uist confirmed today. However, I can't book any ferries until 12th Feb, the summer timetable delay apparently due to the Scottish government being slow to set the tariffs for 2024. Glad I'm not trying to run a business on the Western Isles ... bad enough trying to organise a holiday!
