New hand rails

I passed the war memorial on my way to church this morning (you can see the church in the background). This blip is showing the new hand rails that have been made to make it easier to get up and down to lay flowers and wreaths etc.

Most people who laid wreaths here on Remembrance Sunday needed a hand getting up or back down the steps, someone must have been watching and taking note!

Also, the large area of pavement in front the memorial is sufficient for all attendees at the Remembrance service to stand but it is notorious for being icy in bad weather like last week. Chris and I had to get across it after our hairy scary walk last Wednesday. There were men working in those icy conditions and were kind to two old dodderers clinging to the wall to get across the corner to the zebra crossing, now I know what they were doing.

Dire weather out there. Stay safe all those in the UK suffering Storm Isha this afternoon and evening.
