Evolution of an Entrance...

...with apologies to those who have seen almost this same picture several times before. When we were looking for a replacement of the old doors, which felt a bit insubstantial for a main entrance, we felt quite trendy with our choice of awhite house with a black door. Now every new house being built around here, and there are quite a few, seems to have the same black and white theme. I think it's supposed to be a 'farmhouse' look. This door came from an outfit in Los Angeles called Pinky's Iron Doors. After several consultations with them they said they could ship us this one. This was in 2017 when it seemed as if the entire county was on fire and we were evacuated for two weeks. Once we got home again, it seemed that our door, undeliverable when the area was 'closed' was 'lost' somewhere, but it was finally located in a town enroute where it was sent for safe storage. I put pictures in extras of the original glass doors, taken before we moved in, and of the installation process for the new ones.

It's been one of those days of steady, unrelenting drizzle. It won't amount to much, but it has still been very wet. Undeterred, I went to Pilates where we worked our arms with weights and our legs with squats and lunges as well as on the reformer. There were quite a few new people, most of them younger, so perhaps that is why Sherisse upped the ante today.

When I got home John was outside in his raincoat picking up sodden leaves. We have a large 'green can' for garden clippings which will be picked up tomorrow, and he feels compelled to fill it somehow every week. Spike does not like the rain and refused to go outside. The frogs like it though. They have just begun their evening warm-up and will soon be in full throat...quite surprisingly loud for such little fellows.
