Everything outdoors was encased in ice early this morning. It was quite beautiful to see, like living in a crystal world. Thankfully the temperatures warmed to above freezing by midday. By the time I felt safe enough to step outside tree branches were already dripping off their icy layers. After a few bird shots I sanded a path to the car to chip and scrape it off, then penguined myself down the driveway to salt and sand around the mailbox • Light snow overnight • I ordered some chocolate bark and nuts from mostlynuts.com It’s a small startup but we know one of the owner’s friends who volunteers her time once or twice per week to package and ship orders.
