Snow day

What to do on a snow day - Make sure the feeders are filled and sit back and watch the action with a camera close by.

At one point this morning the cardinal and a warbler were in the feeder, the northern flicker was on the suet and another pine warbler was at the bird pie. I also had downy woodpeckers, juncos, a couple of song sparrows, blue jays, starlings, morning doves, chickadees and goldfinches. The female cardinal also stopped for a moments visit this morning, but she didn't want to stay long enough for a photo.

I also spent about an hour this morning finishing a jigsaw puzzle, vacuumed, watered the houseplants and cleaned the kitchen. The roommate actually got off his lazy butt and went out and shoveled some snow, he did the walkway and half the driveway. I went out later this afternoon and cleared the snow off the truck and shoveled the driveway on the other side of the truck.

The forecast had been for 15 cm of snow, but I think we got closer to 20 cm. Then the wind started to blow it around. Back to work tomorrow, hopefully the roads will be clear in the morning.
