Life in Sunny Dubai

Drive out

(31/1/24)

The weather is lovely at the moment. It's not as cool as it could/should be, but it's better than the 40+ degrees Celsius we usually have.

I am itching to go to Jebel Jais while it is pleasant. G was happy to drive to RAK, but not up a high mountain with "ropey ankle boots", as she calls them! So, we drove to The Cellars, where we noticed more traffic than usual at the roundabout. It emerged the Dubai Tour was on, and the cyclists were passing through the area.

We went on to Barracuda and stocked up on some food items. When we left home, G said she wanted coffee and a doughnut. It would have been better to have them on the way up, but she wanted them on the way back, so, with it now getting towards lunch and us both getting hungry, I called in at the first available services. The ENOC store had both coffee and doughnuts but their own brands. They, er, weren't very nice; in fact, they were awful. So we won't be doing that again.

Both the pictures for today are taken at this stop. I love the scenery on this drive, but it's not always possible to stop to capture them. They are more red than the dunes in other parts of the country.

Tonight, the DVD was The Hundred-Foot Journey. :)
