Blue Sky on ..

a silly Saturday walk.

We had decided to do my usual Ladies, Thursday St Ives walk this morning.

It’s quite steep in parts especially as we went via the cricket field so Chris was complaining.

Up again through the woods past Lady Blantyre's rock, the two trees that were down just over a week ago had been removed but there was yet another across the path. No going under or over this one we had to go round it. Extra
The people doing a sterling job removing these fallen trees must be getting a bit fed up of it!

As we got further up there were quite a lot of golfers to be seen on the course. On a Thursday we walk so early that we only see the odd few at the first hole near the clubhouse or crossing the road to the second. A good morning to play I should think, fine and quite mild with a bit of blustery wind.

When we emerged from the woods onto the field the sun came out too. Great blue skies and as I turned to take a shot I thought we could add our shadows for a bit of interest. It wasn’t until later that I realised it was the first Saturday in the month and therefore Silly Saturday. So here you have us!

We didn’t stop for a coffee at The Ivy Kitchen as we needed to be back for our son coming to give Chris a hand moving the washing machine. I put a wash in yesterday after the plumber had finished and it leaked onto the garage floor during the spin. We wrongly thought it would be something the plumber had done with the outlet  pipe as the boiler is next to it. Luckilythey didn’t get as far as moving the washer out ( the dryer is on top of it) as Chris discovered the outside drain was blocked with leaves!

Alex stopped for a bacon sandwich and we settled down to watch the rugby. I do like the Six Nations tournament. The Ireland - France game last night was excellent. Of course I only half watch. I’m doing a jigsaw - The Sistine Chapel. Very tricky. It doesn’t have a right way up as each face is the facing edge as on the famous ceiling.

I have to confess we went to Rome many years ago and although we went to St Peter’s Basilica  and even climbed the dome we opted out of visiting the chapel - philistines.  Taking a good look at it now!
