An ordinary life....

Fit to burst!

First visit to The Cairn in 2024 :-)

Before that a visit from the Social Worker for the annual review of our Welfare Guardianship for Alan.  Second year in a row it's been the same SW.  Don't think that's happened before.  They always move on.  That said we can't complain as every one of them has been lovely.

Just over half an hour after after arriving, she was on her way.  Alan was up so she got to meet him.  He was very charming initially then decided the film he was watching was more interesting than chatting and turned his attention back to that!  Subtle Alan, subtle!  lol

Once the SW left it was time to throw some makeup at my face and get ready for lunch with a pal who this time next week will be much further away, as she embarks on her next big life adventure.  A move to lovely Eyemouth!

I managed to persuade her to leave the packing for a few hours to be fair it didn't take much persuasion :-)) and make the most of the fact that till next week, she is only an hour away.

As ever, a warm welcome awaited at the Cairn and as neither of us had eaten much, if anything, of breakfast, we went for the full three courses, both choosing exactly the same dishes, all of which were absolutely delicious.

We didn't quite finish our main courses but somehow managed to find a little space for coffee and creme brûlée.  Be rude not to ;-)

Rolled home, literally, with L making sure my wheels didn't get embedded in the stone chip path that leads out the hotel garden!

L stayed for a little while to say hello to D, get cuddles from Lola, smiles of pure love from Alan and admire my crochet love heart squares I am scintillating company :-) then headed off into the murky evening before the forecasted snow began (it didn't begin till 11pm and turned out to be a dusting)

Great to see you missus and thank you so much for a lovely afternoon and my birthday gin!  A new one on me and can't wait to try it when these antibiotics end!

So excited for your move and can't wait to come and visit.  You've been warned!  :-)))
