French rugby fans

The French have invaded Edinburgh for the weekend. I love the way that they dress up to watch the rugby. This pair of visitors was very willing to pose for me in their French kilt combo. We walked past them when we headed up to Blackwells this morning to buy a couple of books to supplement the holiday reading that we picked up from the public library yesterday. We also chatted briefly to a French couple in the post office when buying some currency - in French <so proud>.

Our packing efforts this afternoon have been a bit of a challenge. For the first week of our holiday, we need light clothes for a warm climate. For the second we'll be dressing for winter again. Added to this, since we are picking up Mummy hazelh on our way back to Edinburgh, we have to be certain that everything we take with us tomorrow will fit in our car along with our elderly passenger and her case for our return journey in two weeks' time.

Along with Paddy and Caitlin, this evening we were treated to a fabulous meal of walnut salad, lamb shanks, couscous, vegetables in filo pastry, and panna cotta with apricot coulis at David H's house. The only disappointment was that Elly and Bruce couldn't make to the dinner party. They have both caught a nasty cold and (sensibly) don't want to spread their germs.

Exercise today: walking (21,548 steps).
