Ardureck Castle

We have had some wonderful weather today starting with a bright morning.  As we left Ullapool we stopped to take shots of boats sparkling in the sun and headed into the mountains travelling alongside various lochs. There are easy parking spaces on the road and we stopped many times to photographing rolling mist and low clouds drifting down the valleys.

We passed through Elfin on the way to Glen Canisp and then onto Ardureck Castle where this image was taken.  By now the weather was changing and we decided to drive to Newton and then onto the Kylesku Bridge to see the area.  It's certainly very bleak and mountainous here.

By the time we returned home the sun was beginning to set there were just hints of colour amongst the clouds and we had been out all day.

It was another good evening meal in great company.   Just a pity the accommodation is so cold but we do have our cold weather clothes with us.
