Wound up in Wexford

Cables in excess

This house was built as a very "connected" house.  There are speakers in the ceiling of every room, and wires in the corners (some with small speakers still attached) of several rooms - presumably for surround sound.  There are also aerial sockets in almost every room.  And there are many cables and wires emerging from the wall in the corner of the lounge.

We've been largely ignoring them, but with the decorators due for the second phase (including the lounge) I thought it was time to do something.  When Z and S were here in the summer they played a little, and found one set of speaker wires that worked the ones in the ceiling of the lounge.

I had another play, identified the ones that work in the lounge, and couldn't make any of the others work.  W is reluctant to just cut them off - what if future residents want them, but I pointed out that it's all wireless these days.

As I write this blip on Thursday morning, we also have a man here identifying what we need to make our TV work.
