a lifetime burning

This is another exercise in my trying to learn how to photo stack images.  I think the results are improving but there's definitely more to learn before I'm going to be happy with the end results.  

For my own reference I've used Helicon to stack 50 images at f5 using the 105mm macro lens. I felt that f5 would allow the background to be beautifully out of focus, while providing just about enough depth of field to cover the crocus flower.  

The Nikon has a focus stacking option and using that I've set the focus step width to 6 for this, but on reflection I might try reducing it to 5 for my next attempt.
