Life through the lens...

Judy Bridge

Our first visit to Judy Woods this year.
It was dull when we set off but the sun came out later and it was 16C when we were on the way back home.

No flowers to see but the catkins were out.
I now have the ‘ Merlin’ App on my phone and was surprised to see some birds I haven’t heard of before show up.
We were delighted that the first bird we saw was a Nuthatch. Actually two.
Then a Mistle Thrush
Wren
Blue Tit
Robin
Great Tit
Coal Tit
Carrion Crow
The two which were new to me were
Crested Tit and European Serin.
The Serin is very much like a Siskin. Unfortunately we didn’t see it.
Presumably Merlin is always right as it seems to be a fairly rare bird in this country.
Thanks to Blippers who recommend this App.
Next time we will remember the binoculars!
