I went out for a walk late afternoon in hopes of a blip. It was blowing a gale and not warm. I didn't find anything inspiring, so headed briskly for home. I caught sight of these backlit stems, lashing in the wind, out of the corner of my eye as I neared home, and thought, "Maybe this'll do." Shooting against the light and into the wind, I wasn't convinced, but it came out surprisingly sharp and close to what I wanted. A cheerful sight, and it's light till after 6 pm now!

Earlier I'd made a tarte tatin for lunch, and it turned out well, but my photos were hopeless. No matter what I do, the caramelised apples look like potatoes (extra) ...
