Over the mountains
and back again to see some
art and lovely folks

I left my driveway at 10 AM to head east on Interstate 8 to Wellton. It's just a little agricultural community of some 2500 residents (more over the winter when the snowbirds come in). The arts groups in the area are hosting an art show and sale at the local museum. This is a friendly  community that takes pride in its accomplishments.

It's just a short hop on the highway - about 20 miles/ 31 kilometres to get there. There's a pass through the Gila Mountains, then the valley opens up.

It was delightful to meet some artists there that I knew. Art work was tucked in and around the museum exhibits. Irene, who plein air paints with our group in Yuma was demonstrating acrylic painting. Chuck from our Mountain Shadows group was demonstrating scratch art. He's a master in that. Johnnie, also from our group, had a booth where she displayed her art for sale.

I was back on the interstate and home again by noon. I'm in for the day.
