A few weeks ago several pieces were finished using the new glazes that I bought to try out.   This, the centre decoration in a shallow bowl, is the best of a good bunch!   Layering two seemingly plain glazes over each other produces this amazing result which is especially pronounced over texture and on non horizontal surfaces where the colours can flow in the heat of the kiln.  Magic!

A Sunday that has been mostly about admin.   It started bright with a bit of sunshine but then cloud drifted in and a keen, cold wind radically changed the feel of the day.  Indoor jobs became favoured!   Quite a bit done which is good.  Meg had a walk, I did a bit more glazing at pottery and then went to a charity fundraising talk in Aberdovey.  Given by two men from a team of five middle aged, successful businessmen who somehow found themselves taking up the challenge to row the Amazon from source to sea.  A different kind of madness!   They did it in 28 days and managed, perhaps even more significantly, to come out of it even better friends than before it.
