Ladybird and post-op daft stuff

The ladybird was near our back door and it was there for ages. It might still be!
Another day without rain - fantastic. Got the washing dried outside.
Extra photo is of the sock aid with one of the TED (Thrombo-Embolytic Deterrent) stockings on and my inhaler to show the size of the gap that Terry is expected to get his foot through. Stupid! The physio was adamant this aid will work for the TEDs and I'd love to see her use it. I am guessing that many post-op hip replacement patients ditch their TEDs soon after discharge and after asking a few people we know who have had this op, they all ditched them, early on. There's a better chance of applying the stockings without the aid but it's very difficult and you fear that you are going to dislocate the new hip. The patients themselves cannot possible put on / pull off the one on the leg that has had the surgery as the patient is not allowed to bend over that far at the waist or bend their knee up far enough either.
Finished the book I was reading and started another. It's one by Sharon Gosling, called The Forgotten Garden and set in Cumbria. I've read a couple of her books already and one was a cracker (The Lighthouse Bookshop).
