Sand

We spent a good part of our morning walk planning just how to scoop up more of the sand from the small piles of it on the railroad track. Trains dribble the fine, clean sand onto the rails when it's icy or to help with traction. I don't know why they dumped it out, but there it sits, for weeks now, so we've been taking it. After our walk we loaded the pickup with buckets and a shovel, then drove about six miles from home to reach the place that is about two miles from home when you walk.
