Detritus

Today three very capable and attentive men installed a new furnace in our basement, and a new a/c unit outside where the old heat pump used to sit.
We've been planning to get a mini-split heating and a/c unit for this place, and to keep using the old furnace as a back-up. But we ended up agreeing with the woman who came out to give us a quote: she said our furnace was very old, living on borrowed time, and since there is nothing wrong with our existing ductwork, why not use it to both heat and cool. That way we don't have to have any holes punched into our outside walls for a mini-split, or two, or three, and not any hoses or cords strung all over the place. It wasn't cheap, but it was sure easy to go with the new furnace and a/c. And, now it's all over and our house is so toasty and cozy. Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.
Here's some of the old stuff they removed and hauled away.
I don't know why that plastic chair is in the picture; it followed Eric home one day and now seems to always be in the way.
