I wasn't at all sure about today's walk with my Ramblers group, it was forecast to rain all day, but I went anyway. Full waterproofs and, unusually for me because I dont like them, I put my gaiters on. Good job as it turned out, without them I'd have filled my boots!

Starting from Minninglow carpark we walked paddled along Gratton Dale, mostly mud but with sections of stream, to Middleton by Youlgreave for a lunch stop, then back via Long Dale which wasn't quite as muddy.

Walking through mud like that is tiring, using lots of little muscles that aren't usually stressed so much. Definitely type 2 fun, I was glad to reach the car!
