Field Poppies

These poppies always make me think of British Legion poppies and Remembrance Day. I have always found that idea that every poppy represents a fallen soldier so poignant - because there are so many poppies. Not as many as there used to be though. I guess the farmers use pesticides to prevent the wildflowers growing amongst their crops and so the poppies don't populate the fields as they used to. This particular field stands out however. The poppies can be seen at a distance, and up close they have populated the edge of the field in numbers. They are so delicate.

Anyway, we're just about packed. Bed soon then up and in the car by 7am for the long drive south. Back mid-July. I'll check in from time to time - happy Blipping, see you soon!
