Dusk on Swede Hill

My friend and I went to share a glass of wine (oh well we each had our own) at Amaterra Winery late this afternoon. We had a lovely time, shared wine, nibbles and a great conversation. I've been there before, several times. It's a superb winery right in Portland. So many wineries in the region, but typically they're a bit south of the city. This has been a marvelous find for those of us who want to only drive for 15 minutes.

As we were leaving, I saw this line of trees at what must be the crest of Swede Hill where the winery is located. This area has a long, rich history and is now the location of this fabulous vineyard and winery.
