Hard work

All weekend at choir practice, working on German tongue twisters. I wish I liked this programme better, although I'm coming to terms with Hör Mein Bitten and Schicksalsgesang. Just as well as we are performing them in a joint concert with another choir in three weeks.

The weekend was made more pleasurable by having soprano soloist Myriam with us; as well as singing, yesterday she took a section at a time and did half-hour vocal technique sessions with us. At the end of today we performed the two pieces with both pianist and soloist. Myriam has a fabulous rich and powerful voice, and it made a big difference to the overall effect.
