The accidental finding

Wallsworth Hall, Twigworth, Gloucestershire

GG turned up for our walk this morning wearing stupid shoes! It's been raining for days here. So I said, let's go for a drive, and she said, no let's go for a walk along a road, and I said, which road?

In the end we drove to Gloucester Services, the Harrods of the South Western motorway services. I think I managed to convey to her that if we walk on wet grass or mud and she slips, I just can't rescue her. I'm not strong enough, and what if we had no mobile signal because we were miles from anywhere ?  However, I expect that she'll turn up in something equally impractical next time. I guess not everyone was brought up in the highlands, where sensible footwear is the norm.

Anyway, we had a fun time looking at the crisps for 3 pounds, and the twenty-five pound Easter eggs. I bought a loaf of gluten free bread reduced from 5.60 to 2.80, but passed on the handmade soap.

Back home, I changed my jacket and waited for V to turn up. We'd planned to go to Twigworth, near Gloucester, to a specialist  museum called Nature in Art, to see the International Wildlife Photographer of the year touring exhibition. Despite having had a headache, she showed up, and we got there in good time. The exhibition was superb, as it always is. I've decided to become a member of Nature in Art, so I can go there as often as I like. We viewed the artist in residence's exhibition as well, and looked at forthcoming events (I'm up for the forthcoming printmaking exhibition about  eels).

When V and I got back it was still sunny, so we sat in the cabin with tea, until the sun disappeared. V went home, and my schoolfriend E and I got on the phone. It seems that she may want to go to Southern Ibdia with me next February! I think we've found a suitable holiday, but I don't want to exert any pressure on her, so I'll wait a few days before we talk about booking. Exciting!

In other news, CleanSteve and I are  getting on nicely with a bird themed jigsaw. I may have bought a strange leopard -lady puzzle yesterday. Cleopatra meets Rod Stewart in the 1970s....
