A day in the life

A friend of mine and myself went on a concert together which included driving 90km to get there. We knew it was going to be a great performance and we were in good time because it was a free concert in a church with great accoustics with two of Swedens leading musicians in the folk-scene, Ale Möller and Erik Wadström. Ale, to the left, is a legendary musician who has influenced the modern folk music greatly with his inventiveness, energy and knowledge on one of his main instrument, the Mandola. He also plays a multitude of other instruments like flutes and dulcimer. The younger guy to the right is one of the new wizards on "Key-harp", or 'nyckelharpa', as we call it, he is fostered in the traditional Swedish folk music but has taken an interest in baroque music quite recently. They played quite a few pieces originally by J.S.Bach but performed with amazingly well-fitted folk music touch and an enormous musicality. You can hear a little of their playing here, though the flute player wasn't in this particular concert. A great evening.
