Strike?

We were advised of a Bookshop/Cafe/Deli down in St Boswells down by Melrose way which is an area that we haven’t investigated for walking. With a bit of online investigation I came up with the Dryburgh Abbey – St Boswells loop walk. Turned it wasn’t a biggie in terms of distance only 5.5 miles but a very interesting walk along the banks of the river Tweed never the less. The main image is an angler I’m fairly sure I caught this chap mid cast rather than ‘striking’ a fish and the ‘extra’ was on the Dryburgh suspension bridge, maybe a mile from the start. We noticed a few signs for another couple of walks through the area The St Cuthbert’s Way (100km Melrose to Berwick) and the Borders Abbey way (109km Melrose, Dryburgh, Kelso & Jedburgh) We’ll be back to do some if not all of these routes. It being a bit dull and chilly we decided not to visit Dryburgh Abbey this time, we’re thinking of doing it again in the late spring. The cafe was great for a coffee before and after the walk.
