Above And Beyond...

Penyard Castle

At 9.30am fellow blipper SilverImages collected me from home and drove us into Ross on Wye town centre (Herefordshire, UK) for a full English cooked breakast and coffee.

The calories were then used trekking up to the top of Penyard Hill overlooking Ross on Wye to find Penyard Castle (14th C) which is well hidden as Mrs BB and I once walked the footpath nearby without seeing it!  It's more of a ruined house with stone taken from the site for other buildings in the area, but now a protected listed building with English Heritage.

After the three hour walk covering some four miles we were at the car for the short drive back into the town for a well earned coffee. I resisted the cake whilst Ken gave into temptation!

A lovely day out in good company, I was pleased to have eventually found this local landmark and got a blipfoto of it.

The weekend has come around quickly again: We're off out for a drink in our local pub this evening with friends and neighbours, with a lay-in tomorrow the order of the day! Enjoy your weekend.
