Global Village #5

(9/3/24)

When we met up with our friends S+G and D+P earlier this month, we promised not to leave it so long before we saw each other. David has a day off tomorrow and wants to visit Global Village, so we put the date on the calendar.

Sadly, S&G couldn't join us, so it was just the four of us. G & I got there first, and we enjoyed perusing a couple of pavilions before we met up. Once again, the cooler weather is very welcome, and we loved being out. We met up in Iran, where we were looking at some 3D art, having spent some time looking at hand-woven Afghan and Persian rugs!

D&P are so easy to chat with. We showed them some of the amazing things we had seen so far and then found a fantastic Persian restaurant to eat. D&P had only eaten street food on the go before this visit, so to be in a restaurant that had proper seats, crockery and cutlery, chandeliers, and great views was a new experience! The food was excellent as well - a first for them both.

We then walked over to an Austrian cafe selling coffee and Sacre tortes. Another first for them. They were well pleased with the whole evening, though it got cold towards the end. We started to head back around 10 PM, so not too late.
