A Soaking

An early start.  I was at the sheds at 715am to prepare the set for the final day of photo charter trains.  Fortunately for me the set had been left out overnight, so did not need assembling from different parts of the yard which takes a bit of time.   At this stage it was just damp, mizzly.  By the time we left Wharf station after collecting the photographers, it was raining steadily, rain which got gradually heavier.  Despite some less wet interludes, we were all decidedly damp by the time we returned for their lunch just after 2pm.   It did make for some atmospheric photos but it did mean that some options for photo-stops had to be abandoned.  Fun ... of the kind that is only funny when you've thawed out somewhere warm and dry!

Main Blip at Nant Gwernol, taken through the van end window, massed photographers just out of shot on the right.   Extras at of No2 Dolgoch at Dolgoch, taking water the nineteenth century way from the old slate water column.

Sue kindly sat with Meg for much of the time I was out.  Meg did eventually get a walk when the rain stopped, long after dark.  In between I rested, ate and went to choir.   Tomorrow I prepare for my weekend away.
