Rhiwbeina yn y glaw

Rhiwbeina yn y glaw ~ Rhiwbina in the rain

“To look at something as though we had never seen it before requires great courage.”
― Henri Matisse

Roeddwn i ddyheu yn sydyn i ymweld â Rhiwbeina, yn arbennig i weld ‘Siop Sero’, ei  siop dim gwastraff (fel ‘Iechyd Da’ yn Yr Eglwys Newydd). Roedd cyfle hefyd i fynd â llyfr grŵp llyfr Nor'dzin yn ôl i'r llyfrgell (ac yn casglu'r llyfr nesa).

Roedd y tywydd yn wlyb iawn.  Roedd y glaw yn drwm iawn ac roeddwn  a chefais i fy mwydo yn fuan. Wrth gwrs, pan ddych chi wedi cael dy mwydo, does dim ots mwyach am y glaw.

Roedd hi’n ddiddorol i ymweld â Rhiwbeina.  Mae’n fwyaf crand na’r Eglwys Newydd (rydw i’n meddwl) - does neb yn parcio ar ymylon glaswellt, am un peth, ac mae siop win gyda nhw hefyd.  Roedden ni’n arfer cael siop win yn yr Eglwys Newydd, amser maith yn ôl.

Mae siop losin yn Rhiwbeina hefyd.. Roedd rhaid i fi fynd i mewn.  Roedd rhai plant ysgol yno yn gwario eu harian poced.  Roedd hi’n edrych fel holl y losin yn dod o’r Unol Daleithiau,  Siop arbenigol (a ddrud) iawn.

Roedd ‘Siop Sero’ yn dda.  Roedd hi’n debyg i ‘Iechyd Da’ gyda llawer o hunanwasanaeth dosbarthwyr. Roedd y dull ychydig yn wahanol, ond digon syml. Yn ‘Iechyd Da’ rydych chi’n gallu pwyso pethau eich hunan, yn ‘Siop Sero’ maen nhw’n pwyso pethau ar y cownter. Weithiau mae'n teimlo fel rhaid i chi ddysgu am y dulliau ym mhob siop 'amgen'.

Mae Rhiwbeina dim ond munudau i ffwrdd o’n tŷ ni, nid dim llawer pellach na'r pentref ond roedd e’n teimlo fel ymwed â’r lle eithaf gwahanol, yn gwneud mwy gwahanol oherwydd fy disgwyliad ei roedd yn mynd i bod yr un fath.

I had a sudden hankering to visit Rhiwbeina, especially to see 'Siop Sero', its zero waste shop (like 'Iechyd Da' in Whitchurch.  It was also an opportunity to take Nor'dzin’s book group book back to the library (and collect the next book).

The weather was very wet. The rain was very heavy and I was soon soaked. Of course, when you've been soaked, the rain doesn't matter anymore.

It was interesting to visit Rhiwbeina. It's grander than Whitchurch (I think) - nobody parks on grass verges, for one thing, and they have a wine shop too. We used to have a wine shop in Whitchurch, a long time ago.

There is a sweet shop in Rhiwbeina too.. I had to go inside. Some school children were there spending their pocket money. It looked like all the sweets came from the United States. A very specialized and expensive) shop.

'Siop Sero' was good. It was like 'Iechyd Da with a lot of self-service dispensers. The method was a little different, but simple enough. In 'Iechyd Da' you can weigh things yourself, in 'Siop Sero' they weigh things on the counter. Sometimes it feels like you have to learn the methods at every 'alternative' shop.

Rhiwbeina is only minutes away from our house, not much further than the village but it felt like a quite different place, made more different because of my expectation it was going to be the same.
