Pink Peony

This is one of my favourite flowers in the whole garden and I'm delighted it's starting to bloom before we go away again. There are at least 20 buds on the plant and this was the first to open today, although it's not fully out yet. As well as being gorgeous to look at, it has the most delicate scent and is lovely as a cut flower indoors. A maximum of three in a vase and it fills the room with the smell.

My back is considerably improved today, but I still didn't dare get down as far as I'd have liked to get the best angle on this shot:-) Don't want to tempt fate!
