I could hear the waves pounding on the shore as I was unpacking the car but first things first ..... the car had to be completely unpacked, the immersion heater and central heating switched on for hot water and heating.

Those tasks completed I made my way down to the beach. I had missed high tide but the waves were still coming far enough up the sand for me to be caught out when a wave went over my feet and into the top of my shoe.

I did a bit of rock scrambling but the very fine grass like seaweed was slippy and there was no one else on the beach to come to my aid if necessary ... great care taken.

Weather permitting part of tomorrow will be spent weeding and tidying up the garden.
