Female Great Tit ( Parus major )

At least going by the chest stripe I am declaring it female.  Males have broader stripes and they look a little more glossy.  This is a just in case shot of the Tit waiting its turn at the feeders, while sitting in the Osmanthus delavayi (sorry I don't know a common name).  As you can see the Osmanthus is just coming into flower.

A species doing well, thankfully.  The population has increased by more than 90% in the last 50 or so years.   Very wide spread being found in 90% of the countries Tetrads (2km x 2Km squares).  The other 10% probably don't have suitable habitat.  They travel quite large distances with ringing recoveries from as far apart as Latvia and northern Spain
