A time for everything

England bound!

Tuesday
Our flight wasn’t until almost 4 pm, which meant leaving the house no later than 1pm, so we still had the morning to put last minute things in the cases, water the plants, try and think what I’d forgotten! Everything went smoothly - the drive down to the airport, check in, going through security, and we had time for a sandwich and a coffee before going to our gate. It was at this point we discovered our flight to Atlanta was delayed! The incoming flight was delayed due to storms in the Atlanta area. Fortunately, we always make sure we have a reasonable layover time, so we were still OK for our transatlantic flight, but quite a number of people obviously had tight connections, and were having to be re-routed or put on a later flight. For us, it just meant we had more time waiting in Cincinnati, rather than Atlanta. Despite its large size, we find Atlanta a good airport to transfer through, well directed, and a train linking terminals, and you stay in the secure area, so don’t need to go through security again. On both flights, we were warned to expect some turbulence, but neither were bad. Dinner was OK as far as airline food goes these days, and I watched a movie, Killers of the Flower Moon - I had read the book, so was interested in seeing the movie. Then I tried to get some sleep!
Top right in my collage is looking out at our plane at Cincinnati airport, lower right is looking down through the clouds to the Ohio river, and the left photo is over Tennesee.
