Fishing

Miss E asked a couple of days ago if we could go fishing at the weekend. I thought it would be nice so I said yes.
It is easier said than done to find a river, stream or pond near us that is suitable for them to fish in!
This is the old railway walk in Buckingham. Where the station and track used to be is now a woodland walk complete with ponds and swamps. Beautiful!
I only discovered it the other day and had been looking forward to going back with the Little Misses.
Armed with their treasured fishing nets and a couple of Innocent food pots they couldn't wait to get to the water!
I had my suspicions that Miss L might actually end up in the water so she was dressed in old pond proof clothes rather then her party outfit!
It was more pond dipping than fishing but Miss E was very pleased to catch a few snails. Luckily the protected newts eluded her!!
We then had a lovely walk to the park and had a play - complete with Red Arrow fly pasts, constant helicopter comings and goings and the distant roar of F1 cars as the Grand Prix got underway at Silverstone.
We tried a spot more fishing at the ford in the river as it leaves the park but no joy. Miss E caught a log, put it in her pot and carried it round for the rest of the day calling it her amial - which is how she says animal!
From there it was to Nana and Papa's for Papa's birthday party.
An afternoon in the garden with family and friends, scrummy food and glorious weather. Perfect!
